Care staff
We employ 12 dedicated care staff and rangers at Sepilok.
Our incredible team at Sepilok play an invaluable role in the rescue, rehabilitation and release of orangutans in need, helping to safeguard their future.
The team are also responsible for delivering our education and outreach programme in Sabah.
We prioritise employing staff from the local community. They bring their expert knowledge of the local area, environment and wildlife to their roles. This also reflects our commitment to building capacity within the local community.
Providing jobs in conservation helps to create incentives for local people to conserve and protect orangutans and other wildlife and can enhance the perceived value of a career in conservation.
