Climbing Lesson for the Orangutans

£40.00 each

A baby orangutan in the wild will spend up to 6-7 years with its mother and will learn everything it needs to know from her, including how to climb. Very young babies will cling to their mums constantly. It takes them a long time to build up the skills needed to be able to swing confidently through the rainforest. The orphans at Sepilok do not have a mum to teach them to climb. This means that human carers need to teach them instead. Orangutan Appeal UK funds a training co-ordinator called Victor who has the job of giving the orangutans their climbing lessons. Your gift of £40 could help to fund this vital work.
