Projects
Habitat conservation
Much of Borneo's rainforest has been lost which threatens the survival of the Bornean orangutan.
Reforestation
We have been supporting Regrow Borneo since 2020. The project combines scientific expertise and local knowledge to restore degraded areas of rainforest and establish crucial wildlife corridors.
This reforestation initiative supports livelihoods in local communities, increases biodiversity, and promotes ecosystem resilience in the Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah, Malaysia.
Firefighting
Fires poses an enormous risk to the remaining orangutan populations in Borneo and their habitat. Climate change is effecting weather patterns, making the dry seasons longer and therefore increasing the chance of forest fires.
We have been helping to fund the work of Borneo Nature Foundation (BNF) since 2012. BNF train and equip teams of local firefighters so that they are ready to respond to emergency situations.
