Our Pledge
We are delighted to announce our pledge of RM1 million, approximately £185,000, to help fund the work of Sabah Wildlife Department's Wildlife Rescue Unit.
Orangutan Appeal UK, has been operating in Sabah for the past 18 years, and has already invested RM11.5 million in Sabah's wildlife conservation for the critically endangered orangutans and the Sepilok orangutan rehabilitation centre.
Founder and Chairperson Susan Sheward MBE presented the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, with a cheque for RM1 million, which was reported countrywide in the papers and on national television. This funding is to provide three new vehicles for their Wildlife Rescue Unit.
We are thankful for the continued and dedicated work by the Sabah Wildlife Department's Wildlife Rescue Unit for the wellbeing of all the wildlife in Sabah, Borneo. Our pledge helps continue this work and goes towards our mission for a sustainable future for the critically endangered orangutans.
