Thank you!
Located in Betws-y-Coed railway station at the heart of Snowdonia National Park is Alpine Coffee Shop & Gallery & Hangin' Pizzeria. Jacha Potgieter, an artist and environmentalist, and his wife Gywn are the owners and have supported Orangutan Appeal UK since 2014.
The Alpine Coffee Shop & Gallery, Hangin' Pizzeria, and all its employees are passionate about educating the public about wildlife conservation issues and last year, they raised £10,000 for Orangutan Appeal UK.
This year Jacha, his wife Gwyn and their team raised a fantastic £35,434.95 for Orangutan Appeal UK and Ape Action Africa.
Jacha on his fundraising efforts: "I’m so proud of the money we have raised this year, the whole team work very hard here at the station in Betws. It’s all about raising awareness for ape conservation and bringing people’s attention to an issue they may not know about. I always say that if we stand together, we can make a difference, and if we can save just one animal it is better than none.”
He has organised fundraising events, delivers informative presentations to schools, raised funds through his businesses, and created thought provoking artworks.
We sincerely appreciate Alpine Coffee Shop & Gallery & Hangin' Pizzeria, as well as their fantastic patrons, for assisting us to help save these endangered apes.
