Independence for Canyon
Canyon arrived at Sepilok aged around two years old after a report was made that some villagers were keeping a baby orangutan as a pet.

Retirement of our Founder

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species, over 8,400 species of wild fauna and flora are critically endangered, this includes the orangutan.
