Teaching the future generations
Today is World Storytelling Day. This is a yearly celebration of the art of storytelling. We are showing our appreciation for 'Archie's Road to Freedom," a children's book by Rachel Unicomb.
Rachel volunteered at Sepilok in 2018 and was inspired by the orangutans she saw, particularly Archie who is currently on our adoption scheme and is the namesake of the book. Rachel donated all of the proceeds from the sale of her book - nearly £1400 to Orangutan Appeal UK and helped spread awareness for the critically endangered orangutan. She wanted to help parents and children understand the wide range of impacts orangutans currently face and offer hope that things can change.
